Change of Heart
you," I told him, staring into eyes now completely changed, having bled to all-gold. "Come here."

He was on me so fast, and I trembled in his arms as he licked a path up my throat to my jaw and finally to my lips.
He inhaled my panting breath and gently bit my bottom lip before his tongue flicked inside my mouth, sliding in deep, as he came down on top of me, pinning me to the floor. His arms were wrapped tight around my back as he continued to claim my mouth. Never had I been so desired, so needed, wanted, and craved. And even more, I was safe. This man would never hurt me, and I was certain of it for reasons I didn't understand but accepted nonetheless.
His tongue was tangled with mine as he lifted my legs over his shoulders, rose to his knees, and guided his shaft to my entrance.
"Fuck me," I breathed out as he slid inside me.
We both froze for a heartbeat of time before he eased out only to push in again as far as he could go, the powerful forward thrust and his hips at just the right angle to fill my world with pulsating, devouring bliss.
I yelled his name, demanding he not stop... ever. I reached up to hold the face of the animal that he was, saw the heavy-lidded, lust-filled eyes, and heard the satisfied growl as he plunged down into me.
I wanted to make him promise to never let me go, but I swallowed it down instead. My tongue felt thick in my mouth, my body heavy and liquid as his claws again dug into my hips, pulling me tight to his groin, his shaft buried so deep in my body. His teeth were on my collarbone, biting, licking, and sucking as he marked me. I would be black and blue in the morning.

"Jin," he said slowly, lifting his head to look down at me, his voice deep and husky, so sexy and so his.
I could only stare, the man having returned completely to human form.
"How did you know?"
"Know what?"
His lip curled into a sensual, lazy grin as his fingers dug into my thighs, the animal not completely gone. "That I needed you to accept me as both man and beast?"
"I just... I know you."
He nodded. "I have never changed this way for anyone but you. Only you shatter my control, and only you can repair it.
You are my strength now, and this is your piece to carry for the rest of your life. You are responsible for me, to me. Do you understand?"
My voice was gone; I didn't even try to talk.
"Never, ever leave me."
My eyes flitted away. I couldn't maintain his stare. He was so much stronger than me, inside and out.
He thrust deep inside me, and my back bowed. I had forgotten for a moment that he was still buried inside me, but he had reminded me, hard.
"Mine, forever."
I absorbed his words, the gravity of what he was saying, the threat as well as the promise.
"God, will you look at me? Don't take your eyes off me."
When I lifted my eyes to his, he bent and ground his hot mouth down over mine, his tongue slipping between my lips, 170

kissing me deep and thoroughly, showing me who I belonged to. No one had ever wanted me the way he did.
"Mine," he growled into my hair, rubbing his face in it.
I had so much inside to say, but the feel of him filling me at the same time he stared down into my eyes, never looking away, his gaze unwavering, was too much. I yelled myself hoarse. My name came out as a roar as he found his own shattering release. He was careful not to crush me when he collapsed.

We drove in silence, both of us with our clothes back on, me sprawled in his lap as the car ascended the mountain road up toward his home. I was horrified that the driver knew I was having sex in the back of the car, but Logan proclaimed it natural and that a semel never apologized for claiming his mate wherever and whenever he wanted. Before I could give him a piece of my mind, he had pulled me into his lap and wrapped me in his arms.
"Look outside."
I turned my head to the left, and the window was lowered.
A gust of cold air blew against my face, but it was the view that made me catch my breath. There was a small lake framed by giant pines on the opposite shore, and the reflected moonlight made it seem as though a million tiny diamonds glittered across the frozen surface, winking at the sky. To my right, there was a sheer wall of ice that had been blasted smooth by the wind. It shone like frosted glass and seemed dusted with iridescent powder. The scene was like a 171
