Über Simon Sebag Montefiore
    Simon Sebag Montefiore, geboren 1965, studierte Geschichte am Gonville und Caius College der Universität Cambridge. ›Katharina die Große und Fürst Potemkin: Eine kaiserliche Affäre‹ war für den Samuel Johnson, den Duff Cooper und den Marsh Biography Preis nominiert. Sein hoch gelobtes Buch ›Stalin – Am Hof des Roten Zaren‹ wurde mit dem History Book of the Year Prize der British Book Awards ausgezeichnet, für ›Der junge Stalin‹ erhielt er den Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Biography, den Costa Biography Prize, den Bruno Kreisky-Preis für politische Literatur und den Grand Prix de la Biographie Politique. Ebenfalls verfasste er den Roman ›Sashenka‹. Montefiores Bücher wurden in über fünfunddreißig Sprachen übersetzt. Simon Sebag Montefiore ist Mitglied der Royal Society of Literature und lebt mit seiner Frau, der Romanautorin Santa Montefiore, und ihren beiden Kindern in London.
