Renaldi. A posthumous gift from Gary, Jolie explained, to put toward Leann's treatment. She sealed the envelope with mixed feelings pulling at her—incredulity over the randomness of how people's lives crossed and changed each other, remorse that the same human dramas seemed to play out over and over—greed, ambition, love and hate—with unpredictable results.
    "Everything okay in here?" Beck asked from the doorway.
    Jolie looked up and felt a rush of love for this amazing man. She set the envelopes aside and crossed the room to slip into his embrace. Tilting her head she smiled up at him. "Everything is good."
    A little scoff escaped him and his eyes darkened with sudden desire before he lowered a kiss to her neck. "We have a few minutes before the truck gets here—what do you say we bypass good and shoot for spectacular?"
    Jolie arched into him. "Wow me."

    Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my romantic mystery PARTY CRASHERS! When I started writing the book, I set the story in another department store in Atlanta, but that was during a time of big mergers and closings of department stores and by the time I finished writing the book, the retail landscape in Atlanta had changed. So I switched the setting to Neiman’s, although I took some creative liberties. For example, anyone who shops in the Atlanta Neiman’s will see that the men’s and women’s shoe departments are, in fact, separate. But I needed for them to be together for my story, so...voila! (I love being a writer.)
    It was while I was writing PARTY CRASHERS that an idea for a mystery series occurred to me. For a while I’d been thinking about a woman who would move bodies from crime scenes...but I couldn’t think of why a young single woman would do such a job when there were so many other jobs to choose from. She might in order to help a lover, but I didn’t like the idea of her doing something creepy for the guy she was dating. But in PARTY CRASHERS, we learn that Carlotta has a troubled younger brother that she feels protective of. And that’s when it hit me—a woman wouldn’t help her boyfriend move bodies from crime scenes, but she would help her beloved brother, especially if it was a job he’d gotten after she’d threatened to throw him out!
    With that, the sister-brother duo for my BODY MOVERS series was born. I wrote six books in the BODY MOVERS series that were published by Mira Books and are still available at all online bookstores. I wrote an additional novella for the series called 6 ½ BODY PARTS, and I will be continuing the series with more full-length books in the future.
