    Sowohl in Großbritannien kann das Wort ,piss' in Verbindung mit Alkohol verwendet werden.

    To be pissed: Dies bedeutet, betrunken sein. Es kann auch als ,to get pissed' verwendet werden, was sich betrinken heißt. Oder ,to have a piss-up', was man tut, wenn man eine Trinkparty feiert. Jemand, der viel trinkt, kann außerdem ,piss head' oder ,piss artist' genannt werden. In Australien nennen sie Bier auch ,piss'!

A Short Story. Chapter 2.

    Julie lay in bed trying to get back to sleep. Shit! She said as soon as she realized that she couldn’t and that she would have to get out of bed and face the day. Her husband lay fast asleep next to her with dribble escaping his mouth. He had gone out the night before for a piss up and had gotten completely shitfaced. Usually he wouldn’t have gone out on a work night but they had gotten into a huge argument . She had screamed ‘piss off!’ at him to which he replied “ok then I will” and had left for the pub. This was happening more and more recently, they’d argue he’d get pissed and then she’d pretend that she didn’t give a shit. She knew that something was wrong but she had no idea how to fix it. Well for now, she thought, I have two problems one is that my marriage is a mess and the second is that I need to go to the toilet. She sighed and decided that her second problem was easier to fix so she *willed herself to get out of bed.
    *,To will yourself to do something' bedeutet, sich selbst dazu zwingen, etwas zu tun.

    The day followed the same routine as always. She got up, made her husband’s breakfast, pretended that they didn’t have a huge fucking fight the night before, watched shit TV for a few hours and then went food shopping. Same shit different day. She got home at about 4pm and realized that she had neither smiled or said a word all day. This shit has got to stop she thought. She no longer had any choice she could either change her life now or shut the fuck up and never complain again. It was decision time.
