hair, the soft moans he made whenever Joey did something wonderfully unexpected.
The warm breeze rustled through the trees and caressed them as they lay in the shade. Joey held Robbie, afraid to move and break the spell, so they lay there, spending their last afternoon together listening to the water and wind, Twilight munching grass nearby.
The only thing that would make this better was if Robbie wasn’t leaving, if they could do this every afternoon instead of just today. Quietly, Joey rolled onto his side and Robbie curled up to him, spooning him, an arm resting on his side, hand stroking his stomach.
Joey felt the tears well in his eyes, fueled by disappointment and a touch of self-pity. Since the accident he’d given up on finding someone to love the way Geoff loved Eli. He didn’t think anyone would ever love him like that. But he had found it, and it tore him up to have it taken away. Sometimes life just wasn’t fair.
ROBBIE lay in Joey’s arms, dozing in the summer sun. Their lovemaking had been so tender, so beautifully erotic. It felt so naughty being naked outdoors, but Joey made it seem so naturally erotic. “We should get back, although I’d like nothing better than to spend forever right here with you.” He heard the hitch in Joey’s voice and knew what it was because he was feeling the exact same way.
“I know.” Robbie began feeling around and then laughed. “I can’t find my clothes.”
“Then you’ll have to ride back naked.” Joey’s soft chuckle made his body react yet again. He loved the sound of that voice. It 111 Andrew Grey
was so sexy and warm. It went right to his groin every time. “Can you imagine the reaction if you rode up to the barn naked? I’d have to beat them off with sticks.”

He slapped Joey playfully and then felt a hand slide down his butt. “I’ll need my pants just so you don’t get in trouble.” His clothes were handed to him, and he reluctantly put them on.
Everything… even something as simple as getting dressed, had an air of finality around it. Once he was done, Joey took him by the hand and led him to Twilight, where he got into position, and after Joey was ready, he mounted and got into what had quickly become his favorite position, hanging on to Joey as they rode. He heard a soft clicking, and Twilight began to walk, taking them back to the farm.
Entering the kitchen after helping unsaddle and feed Twilight, Robbie heard what sounded like both Eli and Geoff working in the kitchen. They seemed so happy together, and while he couldn’t hear what they said to each other as they worked, he could hear the sound of occasional kisses and soft intimate conversations that he purposely ignored. “Dinner will be ready soon, and then we all need to get ready for tonight’s concert.”
Robbie heard a mug clink on the table in front of him. “Who of y’all are going?”
“Everyone. I got fourteen tickets. The hands are going, along with Geoff’s aunts, Len, and Chris—we should be quite a crowd.” Robbie sipped from the coffee mug in front of him. It was wonderful and very touching that everyone wanted to listen to him play. “Do you know where Joey is?” After sitting down, he’d heard Joey’s footsteps.
“I think he’s talking with Geoff.” A chair scraped the floor.
“You know if you wanted to stay, you’d be welcome.” Robbie gulped as he set down his mug. “Thank you. It’s not a matter of wanting.” 112

“I know. We just wanted you to know that you’re always welcome here.” He felt a hand on his arm followed by a soft pat and then heard Eli get up and go back to work. “We’ve all become very fond of you, ya know.” Robbie heard a swallow and the hesitation in Eli’s voice.
Two weeks ago, Robbie never dreamed that going back to Natchez would be so hard. He’d been traveling for almost two months, and while it had been fun, the last two weeks had been life-changingly memorable and he didn’t want it to end. He’d actually found love and had begun a truly honest dialogue with himself about who he was and what he wanted. Now he had to leave Joey, which caused a grapefruit-sized lump in his throat whenever he thought about it. And he needed to tell his parents that he was gay. He wasn’t sure how they’d take it, but he did know they’d love him no matter what.
He took another sip from the mug as his phone rang. Speak of the devil. He answered the phone and spoke with his
