The Ascent of the Vampires - Book 1

It was only a ten minute walk to Amy's house.
    After five minutes, Anna was almost at Amy's house. She was crossing a road when suddenly, two men appeared in front of her. Anna knew instantly that they were vampires, they were pale, good-looking and had cruel, black eyes. They blocked her path . One was blond and tall, while the other was stocky and had black hair.
    "Hello there pretty girl," said the dark-haired one.
    Anna decided she would act normally.
    "Oh hi!" she said, "have we met? My name's Anna," she said, happily.
    The two vampires looked at each other. They weren't used to this . Humans were normally terrified.
    "Don't you know what we are? said the blond-haired vampire.
    "You just seem like two nice guys out for an evening walk," replied Anna, "anyway guys, I don't mean to be rude, but I'm late. It was nice meeting you."
    Anna walked off quickly, she thought she had escaped but she felt a hand on her shoulder. The blond vampire pulled her back.
    "That was clever, you almost fooled us ," he said.
    "Yeah, until we smelled your fear," said the other.
    Next, they pulled Anna into the road. She struggled but they were too strong. The vampires were about to bite Anna, when suddenly she heard a car driving loudly. It was going to hit them. The vampires looked shocked, Anna jumped out of the way.
    The car hit both of the vampires hard. One of them was badly injured. He was lying on the ground with blood all around him. The other was not so badly injured, he crawled to Anna.
    "I'm coming for you pretty girl," he said.
    Just then, Amy jumped out of the car.
    "I don't think so!" she said.
    Amy took out the shovel and chopped off the vampire's head. Blood went everywhere, in a scarlet fountain.
    "Oh Amy," said Anna, "I am glad to see you!"
    "Come on," Amy said, "let's get out of here."

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

    11.30pm.
    The underground fortress, New York.

    There was a party, deep below New York in the underground fortress. The vampires were celebrating, it was almost morning and now they ruled the world. The cities on the east coast of America had been taken. In other places where night had just begun, everything was going well. Some of the vampires were laughing and dancing, others stood drinking blood from expensive glasses . Dragos was looking at the huge map on the screen. It was nearly all red, this showed the parts of the world where vampires now ruled. He thought about the future and all his exciting plans. There were the blood farms he had thought about, and the drug that would allow vampires to walk in the sun. He would build a castle above ground, in it he would have a huge bath which he would fill with blood...
    "Darling brother," said Daciana, taking him from his thoughts.
    "Sister," said Dragos, "you look well."
    Dragos was right, Daciana looked stunning in a deep red, velvet dress. Her hair had red feathers in it and she was wearing black lipstick. Many of the vampires were looking at her, hoping she would look at them.
    Dragos heard a noise from the control panel, it was a call from the squad in New Jersey. He pushed the button and spoke.
    "Yes," said Dragos.
    "Sir, it's Thandor," said a man's voice.
    Thandor was a vampire and the leader of the New Jersey squad. It was very late to be reporting. Dragos wondered if there was a problem.
    "Thandor, what is the situation? There are no problems, I hope," said Dragos.
    Thandor seemed to hesitate for a
