Drake Sisters 07 - Hidden Currents
y.
Jackson inhaled sharply, looking in wonder around their room as El e’s fingers busily worked on his trousers. She knelt, pul ing the slacks down, pushing the material onto the floor so he could step out of them. Two wal s of the room were glass, fil ed with salt water, where coral and fish lived and swam in the giant tank. Soft lights threw off a glow as the brightly colored fish with strange shapes moved peaceful y behind the glass. He knew this was Abigail’s gift to them. The ocean in his bedroom.
He looked down at the woman kneeling at his feet and his heart swel ed. This was a fantasy he’d never imagined, not in his wildest dream. He reached down and pul ed the pins from her glorious hair so that it spil ed down her back, the silky strands caressing her breasts so that her nipples peeked out at him enticingly.
“El e.†He said her name. Waited until she looked up at him. Very slowly he drew her to her feet. “Tel me that I’m your choice. Not the house. Not fate. Yours, El e. It has to be your choice.â€
She brought both hands up to frame his face. “Forever and always, Jackson. You’l always be my choice.â€
She went up on her toes, tilting her head to reach him. He simply swept her up and took her to the bed strewn with rose petals, laying her down, coming down with her, and El e knew, in her heart, in her mind, that she was home.
The wind rushed up from the sea to the house just below the Drake estate where Sarah and Damon lived, swirling around, listening to the soft sounds of love coming from the bedroom. The wind moved over the old mil where the new bookstore and coffee shop stood proudly looking out to sea. Kate and Matt hadn’t quite made it inside their home just beyond the mil . They lay on the deck together, hands frantical y moving over each other’s body.
Moving along the coast the wind found Abigail and Aleksandr’s beach home overlooking the sea, where Abigail sat on Aleksandr’s lap in the hot tub, a glass of sparkling champagne in her hand, holding it to his mouth while her hips moved in a slow, sensuous rhythm. Just a bit farther up the coast in the huge estate, Ty pressed Libby against the glass, his mouth fused with hers. Across the highway, the wind traveled to find Hannah wrapped in Jonas’s arms, their bodies intertwined on the huge four-poster bed, and then it whipped through the acreage of trees to the large house next door where Ilya had Joley pinned against the wal , her ankles locked around his hips. Kicking up leaves and twigs, the wind circled back, heading home, heading out to sea, stopping only to surround the Drake home for a moment, caressing the windows as, inside, El e and Jackson made love.
Drawing back out over the sea, the wind rushed in playful little gusts, in celebration, before it rose off the ocean, carrying a soft whisper into the smal vil age of Sea Haven. The Drake sisters are back. They’ve all come home to stay.

SWIRLING mist veiled the mountains and crept into the deep forest, stringing layers of white through the snow-laden trees. Pockets of deep snow hid life beneath the cap of ice crystals and along the banks of the stream. Shrubs and fields of grass rose like statues, frozen in time. The snow gave the world a bluish cast. The forest where icicles hung and the stream with its water frozen in bizarre shapes seemed an eerie, alien world.
Clear, crisp and cold, the night sky shone bright with stars and a ful , glowing moon that spil ed a silvery light over the frozen ground. Silent shadows slipped through the trees and ice-coated bushes, moving with absolute stealth. Large paws made tracks in the snow, a good six inches in diameter, single file, the trail winding in and out through the trees and thick shrubbery.
Although they looked in good health, strong with steel muscles rippling beneath thick fur, the wolves were hungry and needed food to keep the pack alive through the long, brutal winter. The alpha suddenly stopped, going very stil , sniffing the trail around him, lifting his nose to scent the wind. The others halted, wraiths only, silent shadows that immediately fanned out. The alpha moved forward, staying downwind while the others sank low, waiting.
A yard away, a large piece of raw meat lay on the trail as if dropped
