In Derrick’s mind, that one night makes them a couple, and he continues to call for a time, hoping for more. Unfortunately, his dirty sheets mean he doesn’t stand a chance of a future with clean-freak Amelia, even if the sex had been good (which, according to her, it hadn’t). (ATD; mentioned FDTW)
    Des Arts, Sweetie (wolf): Bitten by a Were while lying injured in a car wreck, former stripper Sweetie partially shifts at the next full moon. She resents what she has become and hates all shifters with a passion, taking her revenge with a gun. She moves from place to place, working in bars, identifying local shifters not only through her customers but also through churches, restaurants, and day care centers. While working as a cook at Merlotte’s, Sweetie kills teenager Heather Kinman, a werefox. She also shoots Calvin Norris, a werepanther, who barely survives, and wings Sookie, mistaking her for a shifter because of the scent of shifter on her. Sweetie meets her end in an alley, shot by Andy Bellefleur. In the three years after she was bitten, Sweetie randomly killed twenty-two shifters and wounded forty-one. (Dies DAAD)

    Diane (vampire): No last name given. Monroe vampire Diane doesn’t care about mainstreaming and takes pains to offend humans while visiting old acquaintance Bill in Bon Temps. Because of their arrogance, she and nest mates Liam and Malcolm are targeted by unhappy locals who burn down their house just after sunrise, trapping them in their coffins. (Dies DUD)
    Diantha (half demon): No last name given. Diminutive half-demon Diantha is the niece of Mr. Cataliades and, along with her now-deceased sister, Gladiola, worked as a messenger for the late Sophie-Anne Leclerq as well as for her own uncle. She tends to dress very colorfully and quite often speaks without taking a breath, running her words together. She survives the bombing of the Pyramid of Gizeh in Rhodes after being trapped in the rubble for twelve hours. She conveys her uncle’s personal message to warn Sookie about the fairies as well as delivers Sookie’s inheritance from Claudine. Diantha can conjure small flames in the palm of her hand, loves to hunt, and has been known to bring down not just deer but also people (in her own defense) and even the occasional rogue vampire.     Dominica, Don: The owner of Don’s RV Park reports that the owners of three RVs registered to Priscilla Hebert haven’t been seen in several days. (Mentioned FDTW)
    Don: No last name given. Bernie Merlotte’s second husband shoots her when she shifts in front of him the night of the Great Reveal. Arrested, he remains in jail waiting for trial, unable to make bail. (Mentioned FDTW, DAG, DITF, STW)
    Donati, Todd: Chief of security at the Pyramid of Gizeh, terminally ill Todd wants nothing more than to put in his time so that his family will be taken care of after his death. He is frustrated by the machinations of the vampires at the summit. He survives the bombing and is able to tell Sookie that hotelier Christian Baruch set the Dr Pepper bomb in the hallway outside Sophie-Anne’s room. (ATD)
    Doreen: No last name given. Calm and competent Doreen takes care of Caroline Bellefleur in her final days and is with Caroline when Bill reveals their family connection. After Caroline passes, she moves next door to take care of neighbor Mr. DeWitt. (DITF)
    Doug (wolf): No last name given. When Sookie drives off Russell’s property at dawn with Bill stashed in the trunk, gate guard Doug casually asks her if she’s returning for the “crucifixion.” If he hadn’t mentioned it, Bubba might have met his second end in his home state at the hands of vampires and werewolves who didn’t recognize him as the real thing.
