you inside of me.”
Grant chuckled. “You’re gonna be loud. We have no place to go. Except maybe the truck.”
“We’re closer to Gable’s barn than anyplace else,” Hunter suggested, only taking his lips off Grant’s long enough to finish his sentence. Grant didn’t get a chance to respond until Hunter pulled away, panting.
“The hayloft?” Grant said, sounding amused.
“If you think you can make it up there? It’s a bit of a rickety ladder to climb up.”
Grant ground against him, and Hunter thought that if they didn’t stop soon, he’d come in his jeans.
Grant moaned against his mouth. “For you, I’ll do anything,” he murmured.
They broke apart reluctantly to head for the truck. Hunter drove through the gate of the fence they’d fixed weeks earlier and parked at the back of the barn, where trees obscured the view of the truck. They didn’t speak. They had a hard time keeping their eyes off each other and an even harder time keeping their hands to themselves. They had to move stealthily, though, afraid they might get caught.
“We can always say we came to look at the pregnant mares,” Grant said, as if he was reading Hunter’s mind. “You know, to check on your investment.”
“They won’t catch us,” Hunter replied. He pointed at the horses’ troughs. “They’ve been fed and they have water.”
“And Bridget isn’t much of a guard dog, luckily.”
Hunter nodded, then moved toward Grant to kiss him quickly. He tangled his hand into Grant’s hair. “Your hair’s growing long.”
“I thought you liked it?” Grant said, self-consciously smiling.
Hunter caressed it. “I do. Gives me sordid ideas.”
“Oh?” Grant asked.
“Walk upstairs and I’ll show you.” Hunter waited to make sure Grant could manage the ladder, but he did fine. The hayloft pretty much looked like they’d left it last time. In fact, it looked like nobody had been up here since then. Hunter rushed to help Grant shake out the blanket they’d left in disarray the last time. They stretched it out over the hay before Grant reached into his jeans pocket.
“Damn.”
“What’s wrong?”
“I’ve been walking around with condoms and lube in my pocket for weeks.” Grant chuckled. “I put on a fresh pair of jeans this morning and forgot to transfer them.”
“We’ll manage,” Hunter said, zeroing in on Grant and aligning his body with Grant’s. “I don’t care. I want you anyway.”
Grant hooked his fingers into the loops of Hunter’s belt and forcibly pulled him even closer.
“Your arm is all healed too?” Hunter asked.
“You know exactly what parts of me still hurt, Cowboy. We’ve been sharing a bed for weeks. And being very good boys, all for Mommy’s sake.”
“At least she’s not staring at us as if we have two heads anymore.”
Grant chuckled. “I think she’s actually starting to like me.”
Hunter ground his excited groin against Grant’s. “She adores you. In her own way. Now can we stop talking about my mother?”
“Sure thing, Cowboy,” Grant said, pulling Hunter down with him.
Although Hunter was so hungry for Grant he thought he would burst, Grant took it slow, caressing Hunter’s lean back and kneading his ass cheeks but making no attempt to get Hunter out of his clothes. They’d gone much further than this at home, in Hunter’s bed. More often than not they brought each other off at night before falling asleep in each other’s arms, and sometimes, if Grant woke up at the time Hunter got out of bed to start his chores, he’d drag Hunter back into bed for more intense kissing, but everything had to happen very quietly. They knew they were sleeping together against the wishes of Hunter’s mother and had no intention of helping her find an excuse to split them up. Although Hunter had developed a taste for feeling Grant’s hand over his mouth, stifling his moans of ecstasy, he knew he could pull out all the stops now. Their only audience tonight would be a barn full of horses. The nearest human beings were two guys just as much into each other as he and Grant were. And one of them was Grant’s ex-lover.
Hunter pulled back, breaking their intense kiss.
“What’s wrong?”
Hunter shook his head. “Did you ever do it here with”
Grant took Hunter’s jaw in his hand and forced him to look at him. “Don’t be like this. I’ve told you before that what Gable and I had was nothing like what you and I
