Essiac Essentials
there is much wrong with you. ”
She replied: “I only submitted to this examination to console my husband that I was improving.”
Dr. Cosbie decided that a scraping wasn’t necessary at that time. Patient’s weight was back up to 131 pounds when she was examined.
Chapter 10
What They Say Now
The Essiac formula did not die with Rene in 1978. Ever-increasing numbers of people are discovering and using it. They continue to bear witness to Essiac’s remarkable healing qualities. Here is a selection from the many testimonies we have been given:
Mr A.M. , Canada, March 1991 — Age 67 December 28th 1987: Lung cancer diagnosed. “ I was spitting up blood and knew myself it was likely cancer in March or April of 1987 but was not diagnosed until December. They kept saying if there was something there, they weren’t finding it.” Initially treated with radiation and a form of chemotherapy at the Falk Clinic in Toronto. “I was only given six months to a year, as of January 1988, to live.”
March 1988: Mr M started taking Essiac and immediately felt a sense of wellbeing. He experienced a beneficial change in his eating and elimination habits and had no side effects while taking the tea.
March 14th 1991: “I am feeling very good as of now. I must give Essiac most of the credit for my recovery,”
Autumn, 1992: Mrs M was sent a questionnaire by the Ontario Cancer Institute requesting details of her husband’s death! She replied “....He is feeling fine and I feel he is free of the cancer. I feel that Essiac should be given a chance to help every patient, but before treatment is begun, not when given up on and one foot in the grave.”
May 16th 1995: Mr M continuing to take Essiac and reported that he felt it had built up his immune system and appetite.
August 1997: Still taking Essiac and still very well.
June 1998: Continues to progress. Spent the previous winter refurbishing a house in Toronto.
Mr E.K. Canada, May 1994 — Age 68
May 1993: Malignant tumour in the prostate diagnosed. “As soon as I discovered I had cancer, I started drinking four quarts of carrot juice daily plus raw vegetables and fruit, so I felt my body was detoxified when I started the tea.”
August 12th 1993: “They removed my testicles and I was very sick with a lot of pain. I was given shots of morphine.”
A course of hormone therapy was recommended (anti-oestrogen Flutamide) but Mr K was unable to tolerate it. There was no improvement in his condition since the tumour had not been removed. “I was told in these words ‘the horse is already out of the barn’. The doctor was only trying to prolong my life.”
August 16th 1993: “I started taking Essiac (2 fluid ounces daily) and couldn’t believe how much better I felt about twelve days later.”
September 19th 1993: “I had my last bout with pain. I was able to tolerate the pain with 222s” (strong aspirin tablets).
October 7th 1993: “My PSA (prostate specific antigen) level was 3-0 and it had been 400 on August 4th 1993. Each day I continued to feel so much better ... I was amazed.”
November 12th 1993: “I started excreting what looked like a cottage-cheese substance through my penis. This lasted about two weeks.”
April 7th 1994: “I was told that I was in good health and that my prostate was normal. My PSA level was — 02 — EXCELLENT! My urologist left the room and never said another word, but our family physician told my wife he got a report from the urologist telling him he was “amazed”. My wife told our family physician that we chose alternative medicine because we knew I could not live for too long with a malignant tumour in my prostate. He said, ‘Whatever you have done, continue... it’s a miracle.’ My wife and I will always keep the torch burning for Essiac. It’s a crime people are dying of cancer when there are cures.”
G. O’Shea , UK, June 1998.
“In the summer of 1995 we were living in Spain. During a severe drought lasting around three months, the local water company allowed sea water to flow through our water pipes which we now believe set up a very toxic reaction, causing at least twelve people that I know of to go down with cancer at the same time. Most of us were diagnosed in early 1996.
“After my diagnosis I went into shock. Sadly my local doctor was of no help. After a hysterectomy to remove a 10cm tumour from one of my ovaries, I underwent my first course of chemotherapy
