day away, without calling his mother or sister or even eating anything. But the practical side of him realized he’d badly needed the rest. He felt invigorated and clearheaded for the first time in weeks.
Bo was still dead to the world, face buried in Sam’s neck, his breath warm and soft on Sam’s skin. They’d shifted positions in their sleep, and Sam now lay spooned in Bo’s embrace, back pressed to Bo’s front, with Bo’s arm tucked firmly around his waist. Sam snuggled deeper into Bo’s arms with a contented sigh, careful not to wake him. The man clearly needed the sleep, and Sam intended to enjoy being held like that as long as he could.
Behind him, Bo moaned and rocked his hips forward, rubbing his erection against Sam’s butt. Sam clamped a hand over his own mouth to keep from crying out, it felt so good. Shifting backward, Sam wriggled until Bo’s rigid cock lay between his buttocks, sliding up and down his crease. Good God, the man can fuck even in his sleep. Sam groaned, gripped his own hard prick and started tugging on it.
Sam knew when Bo woke by his sharp, hissing breath and the sudden tension in his body. Batting Sam’s hand out of the way, Bo took over jerking him off, humping Sam’s back the whole time.
“Oh,” Sam gasped as Bo’s finger pushed into his slit. “Close. God.”
“Yeah.” Bo twisted his hand around the head of Sam’s cock in a way that completely shorted out Sam’s brain. “Come on my hand.”
“Oh fuck,” Sam groaned, and shot so hard semen spattered his face.
Sinking his teeth into Sam’s neck, Bo slammed his cock against Sam’s ass and came all over his back. Sam shuddered, delicious chills racing along his skin. He’d done more exotic things, but something about Bo rubbing off on his back felt wonderfully decadent.
“Mmmm,” Bo hummed, kissing Sam’s shoulder. “Good morning.”
“Evening.” Squirming in Bo’s arms, Sam turned to face his lover. “It’s five o’clock.”
Bo craned his neck to look at the clock. “Actually it’s ten after.”
Sam laughed. “I haven’t shot that fast since I was sixteen.”
“Neither have I.” Sliding a hand around the back of Sam’s head, Bo pulled him close and kissed his lips. “This is amazing, Sam. Is it always like this between men, or is it just us?”
“I think it’s us,” Sam answered, winding Bo’s hair between his fingers. “It’s how we feel about each other. Gay sex is just like any other, I guess. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s not. And being in love makes it so much better.”
Bo traced the outline of Sam’s mouth with his fingertips. “I’ve never felt this way before. Never.”
Sam knew what he meant. He didn’t want to talk about Janine. Not now, with Bo naked in his bed, the air heavy with the scent of male sex. But Bo obviously needed to make peace with himself over his relationship with Janine. If he needed to talk, Sam was determined to listen.
“Don’t feel bad about her,” Sam said, caressing Bo’s cheek. “You said before that you weren’t sure she’d ever loved you either.”
“I know. And I don’t feel guilty about it. Not anymore. It’s just…” Bo trailed off, chewing his bottom lip. “It just seems like such a waste of so many years, for both of us. And when I think of our boys having to grow up in that environment, with parents who barely tolerated each other, it kills me. We had no right to do that to them.”
“Well, you’re not doing it anymore,” Sam reminded him, and kissed the end of his nose. “Although she’s obviously still badmouthing you to anyone who’ll listen, including the kids.” Sam frowned as a thought occurred to him. “If she doesn’t love you, why is she fighting you so hard?”
“I don’t know.” Sighing, Bo slung a leg over Sam’s hip. His fingers trailed up and down Sam’s arm. “Come to think of it, she never fought the separation, and she never said she didn’t want a divorce. It seems like she wants to hurt me just because she can.”
Sam managed to resist the urge to call the woman an evil harpy. He didn’t think it would help matters. “There’s nothing she can legally do to you, Bo. You’re a good father. Being gay is not a legal reason to keep your kids from you.”
“You’re right. I called my lawyer the other day, actually, and she said the same thing. She said I had nothing to worry about.”
Sam blinked, surprised. “You came out to your lawyer?”
“Yeah.” Bo smiled, cheeks
