here.”
“Me too.” Robbie began to fall asleep, his mind closing. “I love you, Joey.” Robbie heard an “I love you too” uttered in hushed, sleepy tones, and it was the sweetest music he’d ever heard, especially since it was punctuated by Joey pulling him close, spooning himself to his back as lips glanced over his shoulder. Then the room became very still as Joey’s breathing evened out, and Robbie quickly followed him into dreamy sleep.
A sound on the edge of his mind penetrated Robbie’s dream, and he started awake when he realized it was the sound of the hinges creaking as the door slowly opened.
“Mr. Robbie,” whispered into the quiet room.
“Adelle?” he asked, as he felt Joey jerk awake next to him.
“Yes, it’s me, baby.” He heard footsteps, and then the door closed again, and Robbie felt something soft slip over him. “You need to get back to your own room before your mama wakes up.” Robbie began to move and felt a hand on his shoulder. “I’ll be right 156

outside, and I suggest you put some clothes on. I don’t need to be seeing your bits and pieces, now do I?” He heard her soft chuckle as she walked back to the door and a long, low creak as she opened the door and closed it again.

“Morning.” Robbie was immediately drawn into a close hug as lips found his and his mind shut down. The kiss softened and faded away. “You need to get to your room.”
He heard Joey get up and begin walking through the room.
“Are you trying to get rid of me?” he asked, semi-seriously.
Suddenly the footsteps stopped for a second and then skittered closer. “Of course not, but I heard Adelle, and your mother already thinks I’m the devil incarnate.”

“Well, you are a devil.” Robbie smirked as Joey handed him his boxers, and he slipped them on and stood up. He heard a low growl and then a blanket was draped over his shoulders. “She’s seen me before.”

He heard the growl again and felt Joey pull the blanket closed around him. “You getting all possessive on me?”

“You bet your sweet ass!” He felt Joey squeeze his nether cheeks and then help him to the door. Robbie opened it and heard Adelle say something to Joey, and then his hand was taken, and he was practically dragged across the hall and in to his room.

“I thought you gave me your keys.”

She humphed softly, “I gave you your mama’s keys. What do you think I am, daft?” Her teasing tone told him she wasn’t offended. “Git yourself dressed, and I’ll be back as soon as I help that boy of yours put things to rights.”
“Thanks, Adelle.” He squeezed her hand and then let it go.
Hearing his door open and close, he dropped the blanket on the bed and made his way to his bathroom. When he turned off the water 157 Andrew Grey
and stepped out of the shower, he heard movement in his room and then quiet. Wrapping a towel around his waist, he finished cleaning up, putting everything back in its exact place and went to get dressed.

Robbie felt along his bed as he moved to his dresser and noticed that the blanket was gone and his bed made. He also felt that his clothes had been laid out for him. Adelle—she took such good care of him, yet was always so careful not to do too much for him.
    Just like Joey.
The familiarity and predictability were comforting for him, and he smiled as he dropped his towel and began pulling on his clothes.
He’d just finished dressing and was hanging up his towel when he heard a soft knock and his door opened. “Are you ready? Adelle said she has breakfast for us.” Joey was suddenly very close, and he could feel his heat going right to him, his pants becoming a little tight. He made a note to make sure they woke up earlier next time.
“Let’s go, I’m starved,” Robbie leaned into the heat in front of him, “for more than food.” He let his hand run down Joey’s front, feeling the hard length he found in his pants and smiled as he stroked slowly.
“You’re mean, particularly since your mother is coming down the hall.” Robbie’s hand snapped away, and he jumped back, almost losing his balance. Joey steadied him and then took his hand as his mother’s footsteps approached. He’d know them anywhere. They stopped outside his door and then continued on. He felt so naughty holding Joey’s hand in front of his mother, but he didn’t pull away.
“Morning, Mama.” She mustn’t have heard him because she
