often or how badly he fucked up, and Sam felt the same about him.
Together, they had the strength to survive the current disaster.
Whether or not Bo would survive as a father wasn’t so clear.
Don’t think of that. Not now.
Sam tightened his grip on Bo’s cock, pulling hard and fast. “Come,” he panted, staring up into Bo’s eyes. “Come on.”
A soft keening escaped Bo’s lips. His cock pulsed and spurted in Sam’s hand, his semen spattering Sam’s chest and belly. A warm, sticky drop landed on Sam’s lip. He licked it off.
Bo’s hole clamped down hard on Sam’s prick, and the feeling was too intense to fight. Not that Sam wanted to. He moaned Bo’s name as his orgasm rolled over him.
Bo collapsed forward onto Sam’s chest. They both hissed as the movement dislodged Sam’s cock. Sam’s entire body felt weak and heavy, but he brought his arms up to hold Bo close. Closing his eyes, he buried his face in Bo’s hair and breathed in the scents of shampoo, skin and sex. After a moment, Bo’s shoulders began to shake and Sam felt a telltale dampness against his neck. He stroked Bo’s bare back, kissed his hair, whispered words of love and impossible promises into his ear. Sam barely noticed his own tears.

It took a while for Bo’s silent grief to ease. When he finally lay still and quiet in Sam’s arms, Sam let exhaustion and post-coital lethargy pull him down into welcome oblivion.

Sam, miraculously and horribly fifteen again, cowered in a corner of the high school basement. Above him stomped an unseen menace, rattling the ceiling and sending spiders scurrying into cracks in the walls. Sam curled up tighter. If he stayed here, the monster wouldn’t find him.
A shrill noise split the air. The bell ringing, calling students to class. Calling Sam from his hiding place to face what had to be faced. “No!”he screamed. “I don’t want to! Don’t make me!”
“You can’t hide forever,”boomed the monster from the floor above. “You have to answer it. Here I come…”
Sam bolted upright with a shout. Panting, he darted a wide-eyed gaze around the room. Bo, standing naked beside the sofa, glanced at Sam before reaching for the phone…
The phone. It was the phone ringing.
Sam hauled himself to his feet as the lingering traces of the nightmare dissipated. His lips curved into a wry smile. A psychologist would have a field day with that dream.
“What? Wait, Sean, just calm down and—” Bo stopped, cut off by the high, panicked voice of his son.
Sam frowned. He couldn’t make out what Sean was saying, but he sounded terrified.
What the hell was going on?
Bo caught his eye. Sam raised his eyebrows in silent inquiry, and Bo shook his head.
“Sean. Son, I can’t understand you. Take a deep breath, calm down and say it again, okay?”
Sam leaned closer. This time, Sean’s words came through loud and clear. “Dad, Adrian’s making the monsters come!” 160

Bo’s face went gray. “Sean, God. Get out, okay? All of you, get out of the house if you can and just run. We’re on our way.” Through the mouthpiece of the phone, Sam heard Adrian’s sobs. “The doors won’t open. Hurry, Dad, we—”
The line went dead.
Sam and Bo stared at each other for a second. Then Bo dropped the phone and jumped to his feet. Sam followed.
Within two minutes, they were dressed and running out the door. Sam had no idea what time it was, but darkness had fallen and a cold drizzle had begun. He snatched the car keys from Bo’s hand. “I’m driving.”
Bo didn’t argue, just slid into the passenger seat. His hands clutched at the dashboard as Sam squealed out of their parking spot and out into the street.
Sam drove as fast as he dared on the wet road, keeping his eyes peeled for police.
Being stopped for speeding might prove fatal to the terrified people trapped in Janine and Lee’s house.
“When we get there, I’ll start working on closing the portal while you find the kids,” Sam said, taking the turn into Janine’s neighborhood on two wheels.

“How do we get in? Sean said the door wouldn’t…wouldn’t open.” The way Bo’s voice broke made Sam’s heart ache, but he ignored it. There wasn’t time for emotion right now. “Hopefully we can force it open. If not, we’ll break a
