never felt heat like this.”
Robbie smirked. “Even when the air conditioning went out on the tractor?”
“At least I could open the windows.”
Robbie laughed and got up, carefully making his way to the door. “Get your things and we can take them up to your room.” My room. Joey felt a momentary stab of disappointment. He realized he’d been expecting to stay with Robbie the way they had on the farm, and that wasn’t practical or realistic.
Joey got his suitcase from the trunk and met Robbie at the door, letting him take his arm as they went inside.

The air conditioning felt amazing as they passed indoors, and Joey stopped, his mouth hanging open, taking in everything. The house had been grand on the outside, but inside it was palatial, with gleaming wood, sparkling crystal, rich carpeting, and painting-covered walls.
    “Is something wrong?” Robbie asked.
“No.” Joey took Robbie’s arm again. “I’ve never seen anything like this before. It looks like a museum.”
“I wouldn’t know. All the rooms look to me like they did ten years ago when I lost my sight, and the images get dimmer with time.” 144
Love Means … NO Boundaries
Doors were open, and Joey peeked into a beautiful living room as they made their way to the grand staircase. The dining room, with its rich walls and gleaming table, caught his eye, and Joey felt so intimidated.

He kept looking around as he guided Robbie up the stairs to the landing. “Your room is the first one on the left.” Robbie pointed to the room with the open door, and Joey went inside, hoping Robbie would follow.
The bright room was huge with a sitting area and an antique bed. Guests were made very welcome by Robbie’s family. Gingerly, Joey set his suitcase by the bed and looked around, afraid to touch anything. “It’s just a house, Joey.” Robbie stepped in the room and closed the door with a snick.
Joey took that as an invitation, moving quickly to do what he’d wanted since he’d arrived. His arms enveloped Robbie, and his lips found their companions. The sweet taste and supple softness was exactly as he remembered. His tongue stroked along the edge of those incredible lips, releasing what he’d been missing. And he heard it, that soft whimpery moan Robbie made that shot bolts of desire straight to his groin.
Joey felt Robbie hold on to him, steadying himself as Joey’s mind clouded with unadulterated need.
“Joey,” Robbie whimpered softly against his lips, “we need to be careful,” before resting his head against Joey’s chest, hugging him close. “How did your parents take the news?”
“That I’m gay? Much better than they took the news that you were a Yankee.”
Joey had to stop himself from stepping back in surprise. “That attitude still exists?” It was hard for him to fathom. To him that type of thing belonged in another time.

“Oh yeah, it still exists.”
Joey just held Robbie, enjoying having him in his arms again, feeling the warmth against him, the scent of his clean skin. “I missed you,” he whispered into Robbie’s ear.

“Yeah, what did you miss most?” There was a playful sparkle in his words.
“Your voice, the way you turn one syllable words into two.” Joey leaned close, running his tongue along the base of Robbie’s neck. “The way you shiver whenever I kiss you right there.” He ran his thumb across Robbie’s lower lip. “The way this trembles whenever you come.” Joey captured the lip in question, tugging gently until it pulled free.
“Did you mean it? The message when we were on the bus—
that was you, wasn’t it?”
“Yes, I meant it. I wish I’d told you sooner, but as you got on the bus, I found the sheet in my pocket I’d printed earlier to try to decipher what you were telling me, and I realized I couldn’t let you go without telling you how I felt. I wasn’t sure you’d understand it, but I had to try.” Before he could say more, they heard a soft knock. Robbie stepped back as the knob turned and the door opened. “Mr. Robbie, dinner will be ready in half an hour. You should get dressed.” Joey saw the petite, dark-skinned woman step into the room.
“Thanks, Adelle. This is Joey Sutherland.” A smile broke out on her face, making her suddenly appear beautiful. “So this is the young man you were so excited about. It’s nice to meet you. Mr. Robbie has told me a lot about you.” She turned back to Joey. “You two better be careful, your
